Create your own Woodland scene on a lampshade frame. This lamp has that country charm that would look equally gorgeous in a country living room, a bachelor’s pad, or child’s nursery.
The embroidery is INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED: all the stitches are common embroidery stitches, but experience with long and short stitch (thread painting) is necessary. Please do not attempt this project if you are new to embroidery or not a confident stitcher.
It can be embroidered then wrapped and stitched to a metal-framed lampshade, or framed in one piece for a unique wall art. You can use the whole design, or select animals or particular scenes, and embroider sections of it.
The shade I used is from Ikea, which is handy, because it flat-packs and is available globally. The style is: Ikea Ringsta 33cm (product #304.053.77). But any straight sided lamp is fine.
Use either the Ikea lampshade frame listed above or: straight-sided drum, 24cm tall (9 1/2inches), diameter 33cm (13 inches) and circumference 103.7cm (approximately 41 inches).
The instructions to stitch it to a lampshade frame are included.
You are buying the complete design with photos, instructions and drawings. Included is the list of threads, wool and silk and wool-silk blends, that I have used, but you can use any threads in your own stash.
I am currently in the process of making kits for Woodland Lampshade. If you would like to go on the waiting list for a kit, please contact me.
